Overview
A modified form of epitalon with N-acetylation and C-terminal amidation — two modifications that protect the peptide from enzymatic degradation and extend its half-life compared to the parent tetrapeptide. It targets the same telomerase-activation pathway as epitalon but is engineered for greater stability and longer practical action.
Mechanism of action
N-Acetyl Epitalon Amidate uses the same AEDG sequence as epitalon (proposed to activate hTERT/telomerase) but adds an N-acetyl group and a C-terminal amide. These two modifications shield the termini from exopeptidases — the enzymes that clip peptides from their ends — substantially extending the half-life of an otherwise very short-acting tetrapeptide. The underlying biology (telomerase activation) is unchanged; the pharmacokinetics are improved, the same engineering logic as PEG-MGF applied to a longevity peptide.
