IGF-1 and the GH Axis
Growth hormone doesn't build muscle directly — much of its effect is mediated by IGF-1, which the liver produces in response to GH. IGF-1 then drives cell proliferation and growth in muscle and other tissues.
IGF-1 LR3 is an engineered analog with reduced affinity for IGF-binding proteins, giving it more free activity. That potency is also why it carries real hypoglycemia risk: it acts on glucose uptake much like insulin. Members interested in this compound discuss it strictly as a research tool, aware that delivering the downstream mediator directly bypasses the body's regulation of the GH axis.
