HCG as an LH Stand-In

HCG's structure closely resembles LH, so it binds the LH receptor and signals the testes to produce testosterone. That's why it's used in fertility therapy and sometimes alongside testosterone therapy to maintain gonadal function.

The logic matters: exogenous testosterone suppresses the LH that normally keeps the testes producing T (and sperm). HCG can substitute for the missing LH signal. Members discuss it mainly in the context of hormone recovery and fertility, where stimulating the body's own production is the goal rather than replacing hormones outright.
