The Gene-Expression Evidence Behind GHK-Cu
GHK-Cu has the strongest published evidence base of any cosmetic peptide. Gene-expression profiling shows it modulates hundreds of genes involved in tissue remodeling — upregulating collagen and elastin, stimulating glycosaminoglycans like decorin, and dampening TNF-α-driven IL-6 inflammation. Animal wound-healing models confirm faster healing, more blood vessels, and higher antioxidant enzymes.
Most importantly for the skin-cosmetic case, placebo-controlled human facial studies back it: a 12-week, twice-daily GHK-Cu cream improved laxity, firmness, density, thickness, and fine lines, and biopsies showed stimulated keratinocyte proliferation. In one collagen-production study, 70% of women treated with GHK-Cu showed increases versus 50% on vitamin C and 40% on retinoic acid.
