BPC-157 and the Growth Hormone Receptor
A 2014 study (Chang et al.) demonstrated for the first time that BPC-157 increases growth hormone receptor expression at both the mRNA and protein levels in tendon fibroblasts. When growth hormone was added, downstream JAK2 phosphorylation was amplified in cells pretreated with BPC-157.
This suggests BPC-157 may sensitize tendon tissue to the body's own growth hormone signaling — a potential indirect mechanism for its healing effects beyond direct angiogenesis.
